Healthy and Safe Schools Plan and Documents
Harney County School District is committed to having healthy and safe schools. This page is dedicated to the health and safety of our facilities and includes our Health and Safe School plan as well as testing results from both water and radon testing. If you have further questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
Under the Water testing results, we had a couple of fixtures that had high lead readings. We were able to replace spigots and re-test and this solved the issue in both locations
Regarding the radon tests that came back in December of 2020, all of our rooms were well below acceptable levels of radon. As you read the results, pCi/L means Picocuries per liter of air. Radon levels are considered to be safe when they are less than 4.0 pCi/L. For more information about radon, please visit this website.
